My point of view
I strongly believe that personal success is at the heart of organisational achievement. All too often, senior business leaders get sucked into and stuck in the here and now. Sometimes, it is necessary to make time to stand back and reflect. To some, this may appear selfish or indulgent but it is absolutely key in order to achieve healthy balance. Once personal and business ambitions are clear, both are actively poised to pursue longer term gains.
I think about coaching as a way of providing oxygen – to enable people to breathe, to grow and to develop; to flourish and mature; to experiment and try something different. All of those things really but the most important thing is it creates the opportunity to improve personally and it is that which generates organisational improvement.
You get the chance to step back, reflect and challenge your current thinking.
